FELL: A HILL OR HIGH AREA OF GROUND ... THERE TO BE CLIMBED
"Fell Wines is the baby of Tom Hicks, of the eponymous Hicks Wines. The name is inspired by the fells (mountains) of northern England and the shepherds, their sheep and their binds to the land. It is the oft-heard story of the wanderer, eager to explore small-batch vinification under the aegis of wild yeast and gentle extraction techniques. The bright labelling of each cuvée confers a certain insouciance, belying the textural precision, intrigue and prodigious drinkability manifest in each bottle. If you are expecting pulpy hipster juice with little structure, think again! Freshness, fruit and apposite structural latticework are the signatures, as is exceptional value."

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE GRAPES ...
At FELL WINES our philosophy is simple ... let the fruit do the talking. We source our grapes from vineyards across McLaren Vale, choosing fruit that we believe best showcases the variety and region.
HANDCRAFTED ...
Our wines are made using simple techniques that date back centuries. We capitalise on wild yeasts found in the vineyard to help produce wines that are complex and pleasing. We aim for as little intervention as possible in the winemaking process with no filtering or fining.
